At the age of 13, Andy was performing in local theatres and clubs, also making appearances on Yorkshire Television. After leaving school, Andy went on to work at Butlins, as a Redcoat, then Pontins. This was followed by three years as the compere at Primrose Valley Holiday Centre.
This varied experience means that his act can be adapted to suit all types of audiences, from after dinner cabaret at a Golf Club, family shows at a Holiday Park, or a more gentle approach for Shearings or Warners. Andy has worked in the theatre on both Summer Shows and Old Tyme Music Hall, with such names as Jimmy Cricket, The Beverley Sisters, Les Dennis and Tom O'Connor, to name but a few.
Andy is no stranger to television, with appearances on Granada TV's "Fame Game" and Sky TV's "Search for a Star", which was followed by the weekly TV series "Guys and Dolls". In 1999, he was asked to appear on the new "Vic Reeves & Bob Mortimer Show", alongside Leo Sayer and The Beautiful South, for BBC1. Acting talents have also been put to good use in TV adverts for lkea. Andy has also used his stand-up comedy to do TV warm-up work for Carlton Television. |
